These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern the user’s (“you” or “your”) use of our website www.aicp.edu.au (“the Website”) and your relationship with Australian Institute of Compliance Professionals Pty Ltd (AICP) (we”, “our” or “us”) (Company Registration ABN 74 610 912 180) whose registered office is 24 Punch Street, Artarmon NSW 2164 Australia. Australian Institute of Compliance Professionals is a registered business name and trading name of, and is owned and operated by, Australian Institute of Compliance Professionals Pty Ltd (ABN 74 610 912 180) and all transactions that are processed through this website will appear as Australian Institute of Compliance Professionals on your credit card Statement.   • Any computer viruses or anything else designed to interfere with, interrupt or disrupt the normal operating procedures of a computer

  • Any material which is defamatory, offensive or of an obscene character

    You may not create a link to this Website from any other website without our prior written permission.

Whilst we will try to ensure that material included on the Website is correct, reputable and of high quality, we cannot accept responsibility if this is not the case. We will not be responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results obtained from the use of such information or for any technical problems you may experience with the Website. If we are informed of any inaccuracies in the material on the Website we will attempt to correct this as soon as reasonably possible. We will have no liability for:

    10. Waiver: No waiver by us in respect of any breach of any provision of these Terms shall be construed as a waiver of any preceding or succeeding breach of any provision of these Terms.

    11. Third party rights: All third party rights are excluded and no third party shall have any right to enforce these Terms. This shall not apply to members of our group who shall, from time to time and subject to our consent, have the right to enforce these Terms as if they were us. Any rights of a third party to enforce these Terms may be varied and/or extinguished by agreement between the parties to these Terms without the consent of any such third party.

    12. Law and jurisdiction: The Website is controlled and operated in the country of Australia. The Terms will be governed by the Laws of Queensland and Australia and you irrevocably agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Queensland. Calls may be recorded or monitored for training/customer service purposes and/or the prevention or detection of crime. Details are correct at time of creation. Calls may be monitored and recorded in case we need to check we have carried out your instructions correctly and to help us improve our quality of service.

Privacy

AICP is committed to protecting user privacy. We understand that visitors and users of our website are concerned about their privacy, and the confidentiality and security of any information that is provided. What data do we collect and how do we use it? AICP collects and processes information about you in order to:

  1. identify you each time you visit a Web Site or wish to have a Service provided;

  2. process and track training undertaken by you;

  3. improve our Services and Web Sites

You may be asked, either when you register with us, or at other times, for information about yourself, such as your name, e-mail address, postal address and telephone number. In addition, when you undertake certain services from our Web Sites, we will need to know your credit/payment card number and expiration date. You are under no obligation to provide this information, but if you do not then we may not be able to provide you with certain services or personalise your experience and tailor our Services for you.

Log files/IP addresses

When you visit our Web Sites, we automatically log your IP address (the unique address which identifies your computer on the internet) which is automatically recognised by our web server. We use IP addresses to help us administer our Web Sites and to collect broad demographic information for aggregate use. We do not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information.

Nonpersonal information

We may automatically collect non-personal information about you such as the type of internet browsers you use or the site from which you linked to our Web Sites. You cannot be identified from this information and it is only used to assist us in providing an effective service on our Web Sites. We may from time to time supply the owners or operators of third party sites from which it is possible to link to our Web Sites with information relating to the number of users linking to our Web Sites from their sites. You cannot be identified from this information.

Use of Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information that a Web Site transfers to your hard drive to store and sometimes track information about you. They contain information used to ‘remember’ that the user has visited the site before and provide the continuity of the “session” expected by the user. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can change your browser to prevent that. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of a Web Site if you do so. Cookies are specific to the domain that created them and cannot be accessed by other domains, which means they cannot be used to track your movements around the web. Although they do identify a user’s computer, cookies do not personally identify customers or passwords. Credit card information is not stored in cookies. We use Google AdWords Remarketing to advertise trigger across the Internet. AdWords remarketing will display relevant ads tailored to you based on what parts of the website you have viewed by placing a cookie on your machine. THIS COOKIE DOES NOT IN ANYWAY IDENTIFY YOU OR GIVE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER The cookie is used to say “This person visited this page, so show them ads relating to that page.” Google AdWords Remarketing allows us to tailor our marketing to better suit your needs and only display ads that are relevant to you. With whom is the information shared?

AICP will not share, sell or rent your personal information to third parties. AICP may disclose aggregate statistics about our training, our Web Site visitors in order to describe our services to prospective partners, advertisers and other reputable third parties and for other lawful purposes, but these statistics will not include personally identifying information. AICP may disclose personal information if required to do so by law. Our Web Site contains links to the sites of third parties. When you visit these sites, we suggest that you read their privacy policies. AICP is not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of such sites.

Information about products and services

The Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 (Cth) became effective on 21 December 2001. AICP is or chooses to be bound by the National Privacy Principles (“NPPs”) as contained within that Act. This privacy policy is developed in accordance with those NPPs and explains how we collect, use and handle Personal Information. We will only collect Personal Information necessary and in ways that are lawful, fair and not unreasonably intrusive. It is very important to us that we provide you with the highest level of service. In order to help us do this, from time to time AICP may send you details of our products and services which we think may be of interest to you. Security

AICP places great importance on the security of all information associated with our customers. We have security measures in place to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of customer data under our control. For example, our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorised personnel have access to user information. With regard to our Web Sites, we use a secure connection (SSL) to protect important information (such as financial details) you send to us. While we cannot ensure or guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of data will not occur, we use our best efforts to prevent this. This site contains links to non-AICP websites.
